Dr. Timothy Strobel is a Staff Scientist at Carnegie Institution for Science, Earth and Planets Laboratory. His research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of new materials produced under extreme conditions of pressure and temperature. Active research topics include the chemistry and physics of compressed molecular systems, including the formation of extended solids such as nanothreads; metastable materials and allotropy; and novel energy-related materials including new semi/superconductors.
